Interpretation of Biological Cycle By Liam Battah and Ms. Kelly
The wolf (predator) population rises because they are eating the elk and are reproducing. As a consequence, the numbers for the elk (prey) population decrease because the wolves are eating them. However, as the number of wolves continue to rise the number of elk will eventually be insufficient for the wolf population and some wolves will begin to die as a result of lack of food. The wolf population will then begin to decrease making it easier for the elk to to thrive and reproduce, allowing an increase in the elk population.
